JD Muila, Basketball

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has tabbed freshman hoops stand-out JD Muila as February’s Student-Athletes of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

The big man from Ottawa, Canada has averaged 7.4 ppg, and 6.5 rebounds this season to help the Warriors to a #12 overall ranking, and to being on the cusp of punching yet another ticket to the Hutch postseason basketball tourney. However, Coach Hank Plona is more impressed with Muila’s leadership and consistency. “JD has been a starter and a leader from day one of his freshman season. His consistency every day on and off the court is something that we rely on for our team and program to be successful”. Coach Plona continued to say, “His play has improved, he is our defensive anchor, rim protector, and is a huge asset on the offensive/defensive glass. He’s a great student, a high character person, and we look forward to watching him continue to even greater success in his future her at Indian Hills, and beyond”.
