Alexis Groet, Softball

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has named Alexis Groet as March’s Student-Athlete of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

Groet, a sophomore from Oskaloosa, stood firmly at the mound in March for the Warriors. She threw a tough game vs #1 Seminole State with 5 strikes out that ended in a loss concluding a tough spring trip for the team. She bounced back against State Fair CC when she struck out 16 batters, walked one and didn’t allow any runs. Coach Diehl says “Alexis has raised the bar for what future Indian Hills pitchers will strive to be. She has battled and beat so many tough opponents and her presence on the mound is the foundation of the success we experienced this season and last. I know she was on the path for another record setting season and was going to help lead this team back to the national tournament. It has been fun watching her grow and become the person and player she is today.”
