Wyatt Wendell, Baseball

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has named freshman Wyatt Wendell as April’s Student-Athletes of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

Wendell a native of Larkspur, Colorado has been dominating at the mound during April. The pitcher is 3-1 for the month and has pitched 23 1/3 innings. During those innings Wendell only allowed 20 hits, 9 runs, 8 earned runs, 3 walks, and 20 strikeouts. He also compiled an ERA of 3.09. Head Baseball Coach Matthew Torrez commented “Wyatt, has been our most consistent pitcher this year.  He gives us a great chance of winning every time he goes out there.  He is one of the first guys in the building and one of the last to leave, he has really put time in to being a successful player. He has done everything we have asked of him on and off of the field, after the winter term he has a cumulative GPA of 3.8.”  The Falcons will take the field Saturday, May 4th for a double hitter against Iowa Western Community College starting at 1:00pm.
