Alexis Westercamp, Softball

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has named Alexis Westercamp as July’s Student-Athlete of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

Westercamp, a native of Oskaloosa, Iowa played in all but one game this season for the Warriors. She ended the season with a .343 batting average. She was a force in the batting box hitting 12 doubles and 14 home runs. Alexis was 4th in both doubles and homeruns with a strong offensive squad. She also crossed the plate 43 times this season and had 44 RBI’s. Coach Diehl said, “Alexis or as we called her, "Chuck", played a huge role on this squad and what we were capable of doing as a team this past season. She had tremendous growth from the fall to spring and really stepped into a leadership role on the field. She worked well together with our pitchers and did a fantastic job behind the plate. Alexis had plenty of big hits in big moments for us and her bat made a lot of noise all season long. We will miss Alexis and wish her the best at her next stop, Briar Cliff.
