Kenny Bednarek, Track & Field

The Indian Hills Community College Athletic Department has tabbed Freshman Track & Field Athlete Kenny Bednarek as December’s Student-Athletes of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.

Bednarek, a native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, made the most out of his first ever race as a Warrior. He won the 400-meter run at the Mel Tjeerdsma classic in: a school-record, current NJCAA lead, current collegiate lead across all divisions, and current indoor world lead. Bednarek’s time of 45.93 also sits as the 3rd fastest time in NJCAA history in that event. However, Kenny is no stranger to making historic runs. As a senior in high school, Bednarek ran the 7th fastest 200 by a high school prep athlete in US history at the Wisconsin State Track and Field Meet. Kenny also held above a 3.2 gpa during the fall term.
