Carlyn Stanley, Softball

The Indian Hills Community College athletic department has recognized Zachary Fascia (baseball) and Carlyn Stanley (softball) as May’s student-athletes of the month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding work in their respective sport and in the classroom.

Stanley, a freshman pitcher from Osceola, Iowa had a stellar freshman campaign, leading the softball team to their fourth consecutive Region XI title while picking up Region XI Pitcher of the Year accolades along the way. The former I-35 prep finished the season with a 13-2 record on the mound, including 116 strikeouts while posting a 2.61 ERA.  “Carlyn got better every month for us and topped off the season with a great postseason in April and May,” said head coach Laura North. “It is exciting that Carlyn had such a great freshman year!” Carlyn finished her freshman season with a 3.38 GPA.
