The Indian Hills Community College athletic department tabbed Justin King (Baseball) & Taylor Jones (Softball) as July’s Student-Athletes of the Month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment in both their respective sport, as well as the classroom.
Jones, a sophomore from West Branch, Iowa, helped the team rise all the way to a #14 ranking in the NJCAA, as well as compiling a 46-12 overall record that helped notch a spot in the NJCAA Playoff hunt this Spring for the first time in school history. She batted an outstanding mark of .414, scored 63 runs, and stole 54 bases over the course of her 2nd season in an Indian Hills uniform. Jones also helped her team to obtain a 3.34 team gpa, garnering them NJCAA Academic All-American honors. Jones will be taking her academic & athletic talents to Charleston, and the University of Eastern Illinois this fall.
