Jennifer Sabourin, Softball
(1997-2010)

Jennifer has left an indelible mark on the IHCC softball program as a player, assistant coach and head coach.  Her two years as a Warrior player saw the team win 129 of its 141 games.  She was an All-Region pick both seasons and a first-team All-American as a soph.  Sabourin, a native of West Branch, holds top-five spots on the single-season leaderboard in seven different offensive categories and is in the top five in three career stats.  She followed up her IHCC career with two solid seasons at Union University in Tennessee, playing on the National Christian Conference Athletic Association national champs in 2001 and being selected as an NAIA All-American.  She later coached softball and volleyball at Union.  As an assistant softball coach for Indian Hills, Sabourin helped guide the Warriors to a pair of national tourney berths. She served one season as the interim head softball coach and piloted the Warriors to a 42-15 mark.  Sabourin has also served IHCC as an assistant volleyball coach for a national tournament team and is currently the school's Director, Student Services, Housing and Retention.

Dave Froelich, Baseball
(1975-1977)

In his freshman year, Dave had a pitching record of 7-2 for an IHCC team that won more games than any previous baseball squad in school and Iowa college history and came within one game of qualifying for the JUCO World Series.  Following that campaign he was named to the All-Region and All-District teams and earned 3rd Team All-American honors.  He fashioned a 1.92 ERA and hurled a perfect game for one of his seven complete game wins.  The next year, as a sophomore, Froelich, a Mandan, N.D. product, was 4-0 for the Falcons before a broken finger cut short his season.  The right-hander then put together a 21-3 record in two seasons at the University of New Orleans and established the Sun Belt Conference record for career shutouts with seven.  He was named the team and conference pitcher of the year twice and still holds the school record for career winning percentage.  Froelich's pro career began after he was drafted, for the third time, by the San Diego Padres in 1979, but ended the following year as a result of an elbow injury and subsequent surgery.

Kelly Conrad, Athletic Director - Lifetime Contribution Award
(1993-2005)

Kelly was at the helm of the Indian Hills athletic department in a period of unparalleled success during which the softball, baseball, golf, volleyball and basketball teams all made multiple national tournament appearances during his tenure as the athletic director.  The basketball team won three consecutive national titles, the only Division I school ever to accomplish the feat, and made two additional visits to the tourney, reaching the semifinals of the 2001 event; the golf squad brought home the school's first national crown in 2000 and played in the national tournament every year he was AD; the baseball team made six trips to the JUCO World Series, finishing fourth in 2004; the volleyball squad qualified for its first-ever trip to the national tourney, placing third in 2004, and then returned to the tourney the following year; and the softball team qualified for the national tournament every year that Conrad was the AD, a total of 12 trips in a row.  During Conrad's tenure with the athletic department, Indian Hills celebrated four national titles, had 100 student-athletes named to the NJCAA's academic honors list and 79 who were chosen All-Americans. He left the athletic department after a 12-year stint to become IHCC Dean of Students, retiring from the college in 2013.

Mitch Knox, Baseball
(1983-1985)

One of the top sluggers in school history, Mitch capped his Indian Hills career in 1985 by being named to the JUCO World Series all-tournament team and the NJCAA All-American first team.  The honors came after a tremendous sophomore campaign for the Falcons in which he batted .492 with 25 homers, 15 doubles and 70 RBIs.  As a freshman, the standout from Wisconsin hit .415 and slammed 16 home runs, a school record for homers that he broke the next year.  He was picked for the All-American second team and was an All-Region and All-Sub-Regional choice.  Knox graduated from IHCC as the single-season leader in homers, RBIs and hits, and his 41 career homers were also tops all-time.  He continued his long-ball exploits at the University of Kentucky where he belted 19 homers and drove in 61 runs with a .720 slugging percentage as a senior, and ended his two-year UK career tied for fourth in career home runs and ninth in slugging percentage.  Knox was the first baseman on the All-Southeastern Conference second team following his final season with the Wildcats.

Deb (Baetsle) Sullivan, Softball
(1990-1992)

Deb was a standout in the early years of the Indian Hills softball program and was named the college's first-ever first-team softball All-American following her sophomore campaign.  As a freshman, the Keota, Iowa native hit .463 and was named first-team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-American.  During her sophomore season, Deb hit .424 and was named first team All-Region, first-team All-American, and the Region XI Most Outstanding Offensive Player while leading the Warriors to an eighth-place finish at the National Tournament.  That year she was also the Warriors' MVP and given the In the Clutch Award.  Following her career at Indian Hills, Deb went to the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) where she was twice selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American squad.  She is still the school's all-time career leader in batting average (.450) and on-base percentage (.499) and ranks second in slugging percentage (.733), and she also is among the top three in eight different single-season offensive categories at UNO.

Beth Karabensh, Softball
(1995-1997)

A two-time All-Region and All-American performer, Beth was a key player on IHCC teams that went 118-18 over a two-year period.  Her Indian Hills coach Jeff Kelley considered her one of the top two high school catchers in the state of Colorado and she proved it by being named a first-team All-Region pick for two years at Indian Hills and a second-team All-American each year, while being chosen the team MVP as a sophomore.  Two decades after graduating from IHCC, Beth is still second all-time in career RBIs and second and tenth in RBIs in a single-season.  Her 90 runs-batted-in in 1997 ranked in the top 10 in that category in the NJCAA record book.  She is also number-two in school history in both single-season and career on-base percentage.  On the softball career leaderboard, Beth remains second in walks (73) and fifth in hits (170) and triples (13).  She continued her education and softball career at Colorado State University, where she was selected as an Academic All-Mountain West Conference selection after her senior year.

Athletic Hall of Fame Dwight Hardy, Basketball
(2007-2009)

A highlight of Dwight's IHCC career was the performance the sharp-shooting guard had in the national tournament as a freshman, averaging nearly 30 points in four games. Coming to Indian Hills from the Bronx, N.Y., Hardy was a two-time first-team All-Region choice and an Honorable Mention All-American after his first season.  He remains the all-time IHCC leader in 3-pointers in a season (102) and career (173) and also in career 3-point percentage (.434), and when he graduated he was seventh on the all-time scoring list while starting all but one game during his two seasons as a Warrior.  At St. John's University in New York, playing in the Big East Conference, Hardy averaged 10.5 points as a junior and upped that number to 18.3 as a senior, when he was named to the league's all-conference first team and was one of 20 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, given to the nation's most outstanding player.  After averaging 14.6 points for his career at SJU, Hardy embarked on a professional career and is still playing in a league in Turkey where he was named to the All-Star team this year.  He received MVP honors while competing in Italy in 2013, averaging more than 22 points a game for Pistoia Basket.
