Indian Hills Community College offers men and women the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate competition through a wide variety of sports. IHCC has nine athletic teams. The basketball, men's and women's cross country, golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, and volleyball teams are based on the Ottumwa Campus and the baseball squad practices and plays on the Centerville Campus.
Over the years, Indian Hills has received state and national recognition for many of its athletic teams and individuals. The baseball, softball, golf, volleyball, and basketball teams have all qualified for their respective national tournaments, the golf squad winning back–to–back national championships and the basketball team earning an unprecedented three straight titles. Indian Hills has sent literally hundreds of its graduates on to four–year colleges and universities to continue their educations and athletic careers. The college is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
