Indian Hills Splits Two at Kirkwood

at KCC

Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- For the second time in as many weeks, Indian Hills and Kirkwood CC divided a pair of games in non-conference baseball action.  The Falcons claimed a 6-4 win on Wednesday before the Eagles gained a split with a 6-1 decision.

Indian Hills had to come from behind for their victory.  They trailed 4-0 after five innings in game one, then cut the deficit in half with two runs in the 6th and completed the comeback with a four-run 7th inning.

Alex Fisher was the hitting star for IHCC, going 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs.  Christian Pena chipped in two hits and Ryan Humeniuk and Justin King each scored twice.

The Falcons employed five pitchers and the final three -- Yasiel Valdez, Hunter Capps and Zachary Fascia -- all three a scoreless inning in relief.  Fascia notched his 7th save.

The Indian Hills offense was held in check in the nightcap, limited to a lone run in the 4th inning, scored by Fascia and driven home by Jake Kristensen.  Fasica went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Brett Kauzlarich started and took the loss for IHCC.  Rodny Valdes, DJ DePiero and Caleb Miley all pitched in relief.

Indian Hills returns to league play this weekend with four games against Southwestern CC.
