Indian Hills Thumps Tritons in Home Opener

Iowa Central

Centerville -- Indian Hills set the tone for their home opener by pouring across five runs in the 1st inning and went on to rout Iowa Central, 12-0, in their debut at Pat Daugherty Field on Thursday.

The first four batters in Matthew Torrez's IHCC lineup -- Jet Weber, Declan Buckle, Garrett Takamatsu and Matthew Moon -- each had two hits and Jacob Kristensen and Ryo Yamaguchi also had two-hit games as the Falcons won their second game in a row.  Buckle, Kristensen and Yamaguchi each knocked in two runs.  Weber scored three times and Buckle and Kristensen came around to score twice.  Starter Wyatt Wendell faced the minimum nine batters in three perfect innings for the Falcons.  He gave way to Zacharie Allard, who shut out ICCC on three hits and fanned two in his three innings.  Luis Rivera finished up with a 1-2-3 7th.

Torrez said, "We played with energy!  We made the routine plays and offensively put some pressure on them and things went our way."

Indian Hills is 8-10 heading into a home contest with Southeastern next Tuesday.
