Indian Hills Drops Extra-Inning Duel With SCC

Bahnuk

West Burlington, Iowa -- A leadoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning gave Southeastern CC a 3-2 win over Indian Hills in a non-league baseball game on Tuesday.

The Falcons got some solid pitching performances as coach Matthew Torrez used a half-dozen pitchers in the game.  Starter Jordan Bahnuk threw three hitless, scoreless inning with three Ks.  Simen Restad didn't allow a baserunner in his 1 1/3 innings.  And Omar Vigil followed with two perfect innings, striking out a pair.  Malik Abdul gave up the walk-off home run after he replaced Vigil for the 10th inning.

IHCC's runs were scored on an RBI single by Jameson Hart that drove in Soren Graversen, who had doubled, and on a triple by Alex Fisher that plated Hart.  Graversen and Fisher each had two hits and Jet Weber, Hart and Ryo Yamaguchi all had one.

"Our pitching staff did a good job of giving us a chance to win the game," Torrez said.  "A couple of mistakes they capitalized on was the difference."

The Falcons will battle conference foe Marshalltown CC in four games this week -- two in Marshalltown on Friday followed by a couple at Pat Daugherty Field Saturday.
