Falcons Fall at Iowa Central

Graversen

Fort Dodge, Iowa -- Iowa Central hit three home runs and used them to defeat Indian Hills, 6-2, in a non-league game on Tuesday.

The Falcons got a long ball of their own -- from Soren Graversen in the 3rd inning -- to take a 1-0 lead, but the Tritons responded with three runs in the bottom of the 4th to go on top for good.  After IHCC's Jay Hester drove in Jameson Hart to make it a 3-2 game in the top of the 7th, Iowa Central scored two runs in the bottom of the frame and tacked on one in the 8th.

Daniel Hargrave started and took the loss for Indian Hills.  He struck out five in four innings.  Relievers Nathan Chasey and Jordan Bahnuk each punched out three batters for a total of 11 Ks for IHCC pitching.

Indian Hills was held to six hits in the game.  Alex Fisher, Garrett Takamatsu and Ryo Yamaguchi had one apiece.

"We made some costly mistakes and give credit to Iowa Central, they capitalized on them," said Indian Hills coach Matthew Torrez.  "We just have to get back to the basics.  We will have some quality practice days this week and get ready for conference play this weekend."

Southwestern CC will be the Falcons' opponent this weekend.  The teams will play doubleheaders in Creston on Saturday and Sunday.
