Baseball Players Moving On

Centerville -- A signing ceremony at Indian Hills on May 2 brought together many of the IHCC student-athletes who signed letters of intent with four-year schools where they will continue their athletic and academic careers.  This is what head baseball coach Matthew Torrez had to say about his players who were part of the ceremony (their future schools are listed):

Garrett Takamatsu -- University of Central Oklahoma: Garrett was a big addition to our program as a sophomore.  He has led us in average and home runs most of the year and has also been very versatile playing both catcher and third base.

Jet Weber -- Mount Marty College : Jet has played every inning of every game this season at shortstop and is a great leader for us both on and off the field.

Ryo Yamaguchi -- Central Methodist University: Ryo has been a very versatile guy for us.  He can catch as well as play second base and third base.  He is a true team player.

Jake Kristensen -- University of British Columbia: Jake has done a great job defensively behind the plate and takes great pride in helping our pitchers be successful.

Jordan Bahnuk --Southwestern Christian College: Jordan has done it all for us - starting, pitching in long relief and closing.  He's been very reliable wherever we have used him.

All of these players will have great success in the future, as they are the definition of team players and have a great work ethic to reach their potential on and off the field.

In addition, Declan Buckle signed his letter of intent with Minot State University last fall and Jay Hester signed with Eastern Kentucky University.
