Gothenburg, Nebraska -- The Indian Hills golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a victory in the NJCAA District III Preview that was cut short by rainy weather.  The Warriors took a 14-shot lead over Hutchinson CC after Monday's opening round and that was all the golf that was played on the Wild Horse Golf Club course with wet conditions wiping out the scheduled round two.

IHCC's George Clarke fired a 3-under par 69 to lead the field after 18 holes and Clarke took home medalist honors.  He finished two strokes ahead of teammate Harry Doig, who birdied the 18th hole to finish at 1-under and claim 2nd place for himself.

Indian Hills had three of the top five golfers with Jesse MacNaughtan tying for 4th place with his 1-over 73.

Joe Hodgson wound up in a tie for 10th after his 76.  Max Leclerc shot an 80 for a 25th-place tie, and Ethan Keane rounded out the IHCC scores with his 82.

IHCC coach John Mulholland was happy his squad made it through the final competition.  "Although this last event was weather-shortened I felt like it was our most impressive round this fall," the coach said.  "The weather we played in was horrible and to out-perform everyone in our district in tough conditions should give our guys a lot of confidence when we return next spring."

Indian Hills played four meets this fall, winning two and coming in second in another.  Three different players took low-score honors with Clarke finishing with the best Warrior score twice.

"The team jelled really well from the beginning of the fall to this meet," Mulholland said.  "The sophomores have all tasted success and posted some really impressive rounds individually.  The freshmen all posted under-par rounds as well throughout the fall which is exciting for events to come."
