2022 NJCAA DI MEN'S GOLF RANKINGS
Ottumwa, IA – Following a strong finish to the fall season, Indian Hills Men's Golf is ranked No. 3 in the final National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Coaches Poll, announced by the committee on Monday.
The Warriors entered the year ranked No. 12 in the first poll of the regular season. Head coach Michael Wetrich's squad ascended to No. 3 after a series of impressive individual performances.
In a field of primarily four-year universities, Indian Hills placed fourth in the fall finale at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational in Wichita, KS on October 11, finishing just three strokes behind the two-time defending national champion Hutchinson Community College (KS) Blue Dragons. Hutchinson is currently ranked No. 2 in the national poll while New Mexico Junior College took over the top spot in the nation.
Indian Hills has been led by a number of individuals, including freshman Taimur Malik (Nairobi, Kenya/Braeburn Garden Estate), the two-time Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week and the October Indian Hills Male Student-Athlete of the Month.
Freshman Edouard Cereto (Béziers, France/Lycee Jean Moulin) posted the best individual finish for the Warriors at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational with a 10th place showing.
Freshman Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) was also named an ICCAC Athlete of the Week after leading the Warriors at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate.
The Warriors now head into the offseason and will pick up its spring schedule in March.
