MALIK LANDS SECOND ICCAC WEEKLY HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Following another impressive performance on the course, freshman Taimur Malik (Nairobi, Kenya/Braeburn Garden Estate) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men’s Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Malik landed his second consecutive ICCAC Golfer of the Week honor after leading the Warriors at the Flyer Intercollegiate at the Cog Hill Golf Course in Lemont, IL. The freshman placed fourth overall at the event after climbing five spots on the final day of action. Malik fired a 2-over 146 to lead Indian Hills to a second-place team finish.

After a strong showing at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Preview, Malik followed up at the Flyer Intercollegiate with rounds of 75 and 71. Malik’s second-round total of 71 was tied for the lowest round of the event. The freshman was one of just four golfers at the event to record an eagle.

Malik and the Warriors wrapped up regular season competition for the fall schedule on Tuesday with a fifth-place showing at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational in Wichita, KS.
