Ottumwa -- Indian Hills head coach Hank Plona and two players who will be on his IHCC roster for the 2018-19 season have been chosen to take part in an elite basketball gathering for junior college players this week.  Plona is one of four coaches for JA32, which will bring together 32 of the best rising sophomores in the country.  He'll be joined at the Melbourne, Florida event by guard Devontae Lane, a key performer on last year's 33-1 Indian Hills squad, and Lance Singh, who played at Mineral Area College last season and has signed a letter-of-intent with the Warriors.

"We are looking forward to representing Indian Hills in the JA32," Plona said.  "I love to see kids get recognized and have the opportunity to play in front of Division I coaches.  This is a very select group of players that was picked to play in this event, and I am happy that Devontae and Lance will get the chance to do so."

Lane came to Indian Hills after a standout career at Iowa City West HS and made significant contributions to the Warriors' success as a freshman.  "There are not many freshmen at any level of college basketball that have the winning experience that Devontae has," the IHCC coach said.  "I'm happy that he will have a chance to show coaches what he can do, and how important a piece of the puzzle he was for us last year.  He is a joy to coach and I expect him to have an outstanding sophomore year to finish up his career here."

Plona describes Singh as an explosive scorer and athlete, a tall (6'5") guard that can make plays for himself and others off the dribble, and someone who has shot the ball very well from 3.  "Lance played for a great coach at Mineral Area in Luke Strege," Plona said, "and he will be extremely prepared to step in and make an immediate impact for the Warriors next season.  I am excited to see Lance play this week in Florida.  I can tell he is thrilled for the opportunity and I am thrilled for the opportunity to coach him."

JA32 will take place at Eastern Florida State College with practice the first day followed by two days of games.
