Warriors Return to Action With Easy Win

Calloo

West Plains, Missouri -- Indian Hills got the second half of the 2019-20 season off to a fast start with a 98-64 pasting of Arkansas Baptist on Friday afternoon.  The victory came in the first of two IHCC games in a weekend tournament hosted by Missouri State-West Plains with the Warriors slated to take on the hosts Saturday night.

Playing Arkansas Baptist for the first time ever, Indian Hills shot out to a quick 11-2 lead and used eight first-half 3-pointers to open up a 52-16 advantage by intermission.  When Theo Bourgeois nailed a three IHCC already had five makes from behind the arc and a 25-10 lead.  Bourgeois hit two more triples in the opening half and had a season-high nine points by halftime.

Maurice Calloo provided 19 points, a season-best, and put up 14 in the first period.  Tyon Grant-Foster topped IHCC with his 22 points and 14 rebounds.  Drake Jeffries, who got his third start of the year, contributed 15 points.

Indian Hills had only nine players in uniform for the game and all nine scored at least four points.  Seven different players made a three.

The lead grew to as many as 40 points in the final half, when the Warriors were actually outscored by the Buffaloes, 48-46.  Arkansas Baptist helped themselves by making all 19 of their free-throw attempts after the break, after shooting only two foul shots in the first 20 minutes.

Their leading scorer was Marcus Hunter with 17.

With the win, IHCC ran its win streak to eight and pushed the overall mark to 14-2.
