Campos' Goal Gives IHCC OT Win

Fort Dodge, Iowa -- Pedro Campos scored in the third minute of the second overtime period and Indian Hills ended the regular season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Iowa Central on Saturday, setting up another match between the two teams in just four days.

The game was scoreless until Campos' unassisted goal, his 4th of the season, allowed IHCC to win its 11th game and gain a home-field match in the first round of the Region XI postseason tournament. Indian Hills will host Iowa Central on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the IHCC field, where the Warriors notched another one-goal win against Iowa Central earlier in the season. IHCC (11-6, 10-6) won 2-1 back on Sept. 10.

Gabriel Ivlev was solid in goal for the Warriors, stopping nine ICCC shots in the shutout win.

IHCC coach Jon Fridal said following his team's second one-goal decision over the Tritons, "We showed great character and perseverance in this game. To respond the way we did after Tuesday's exhausing game (against Iowa Western) was exceptional. Several players stepped up today and put in big performances. I'm proud of our guys."

The winner of Wednesday's Indian Hills-Iowa Central match moves on to the region semifinals. The semis and championship game will be played this weekend at the Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines.
