Ottumwa -- National tournament-bound Indian Hills had first-team choices Akean Shackleford, Reshon Phillip, Theodoro di Piero and Ross Dalton in a group of 10 players named to the ICCAC All-Conference teams, selected by the league's 10 coaches.
Shackleford (Savanna-la-Mar, Jamaica) was named the conference player of the year for his exploits during a tremendous sophomore season that has seen the forward score 32 goals and add five assists for 69 points. His goals total leads the ICCAC and is second in the country in NJCAA DI stats and he leads the nation in shots with 114. Seven of his goals have been game-winners and he has seven multi-goal matches.
Phillip (Toronto, Canada), a freshman, has paced the Warriors and all conference teams in assists with 16, which is tied for 6th-best in the nation. The freshman forward has 12 goals for a total of 40 points, second on the squad.
Freshman midfielder di Piero (Botucatu, Brazil) has 39 points on 15 goals and nine assists. He has had four multi-goal games including a four-goal effort against Johnson County and three-goal contests against both Hawkeye CC and Dakota County.
The other first-team pick is freshman goalkeeper Ross Dalton (Liverpool, England), who has been rock solid in goal all season for the Warriors. Dalton has recorded five shutouts and a sparkling goals-against average of 0.75.
Representing Indian Hills on the second all-conference team are three freshmen -- Alcides Duarte, Rodrigo Paredes, and Kondjo Zebina -- along with sophomore Craig Brand.
Duarte (Mariano Roque Alonso, Paraguay), a defender, contributed two goals and an assist while helping solidify the IHCC defense.
Paredes (Asuncion, Paraguay) had two goals for the year, one of which completed the scoring in last Saturday's 3-1 win against Iowa Western for the region postseason championship. He also had seven assists.
Brand (Auchtermuchty, Scotland) is an all-league player for the second year in a row. He was also a second-teamer as a freshman. This year the midfielder had five assists.
Zebina (Granite City) is another freshman defender who chipped in three assists to the Warriors' season.
Indian Hills also had two All-ICCAC honorable mention choices -- defender Tajay Reid and forward Nathaniel Mederos Fonda, both freshmen.
Reid (Toronto, Canada) notched his first goal in the regular-season finale against Scott CC, then scored again in the postseason playoff contest with Iowa Central.
Fonda (Asuncion, Paraguay) is a forward who knocked home two goals in the season-opener against Parkland and added 10 more to tie for third on the team with 12. He had three games after his IHCC debut in which he scored two goals. Fonda added four assists.
