IHCC Rally Comes Up Short Against MCC

MCC

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills scored three goals in a 14-minute span in the second half, but Marshalltown's Kazuki Kimura got the game-winner as the Tigers edged the Warriors, 4-3, in an ICCAC match at the IHCC field on Saturday.

After a scoreless first half, MCC's Rafael Vacas tallied the first goal of the day and Gerald Diaz followed with two goals to allow the Tigers to go ahead 3-0.  The Warriors' offense came to life after falling behind by three goals.  David Medeiros scored on a penalty kick, Lucas Nappi got an unassisted goal, and Medeiros notched the equalizer on a free kick with three minutes to play.

But Kimura beat IHCC keeper Matthew Desfossez with 55 seconds remaining to let No. 16 MCC escape with the win.

It was the 3rd loss of the season for Indian Hills, all of them by one goal.  They will take a 3-3-1 record to Iowa Western to battle the Reivers next Wednesday.
