Warriors Get Conference Tie at Iowa Lakes

Iowa Lakes

Spencer, Iowa -- Iowa Lakes got a goal early in the first half, Indian Hills finally countered late in the second period and neither team was able to break the deadlock in two overtime sessions as the Warriors and Lakers played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.

Malik Smith scored ILCC's goal just seven minutes into the contest and the Lakers were then blanked by the IHCC defense and goalkeeper Vinicius Cadengue for over 100 minutes after that.  The Warriors were kept off the board until a Joao Vitor tally in the 85th minute, Vitor's second goal of the season that was assisted by Damien Baltide.  And that was the way the ICCAC contest ended, in a 1-1 draw after two scoreless OT periods.

Each keeper -- Cadengue for IHCC and Josh Wilson for the Lakers -- was credited with seven saves.

The result leaves Indian Hills' record at 7-1-2.  They will host Southeastern at the IHCC field on Wednesday.
