Mason City, Iowa -- Held without a goal for over 80 minutes in their ICCAC showdown with NIACC on Sunday, Indian Hills scored twice just three minutes apart in the final 9:36 to come from behind and knock off the Trojans, 2-1, on the NIACC campus.
The first half was scoreless and NIACC snapped the deadlock with a goal from Alex Scarano in the 49th minute to go ahead, 1-0.
It stayed that way until IHCC's Rodrigo Rogatto found the back of the net off a pass from Vincent Grillot to tie things up. A short time later, Damien Baltide scored what turned out to be the game-winner when he notched his fourth goal of the season, the assist going to David Medeiros, whose five assists lead the team. Indian Hills held onto the one-goal lead over the final 6:29 with some defensive help for goalkeeper Alan Roman. Roman made five saves in gaining his fifth win of the fall.
Indian Hills, now 9-1-2, has a big contest at Iowa Western on Wednesday before returning home for four straight matches.
