Men's Soccer Wins on Sophomore Day

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills took a 3-0 halftime lead and then finished off visiting Northeast (Neb.) for a 4-2 win on a day when the Warriors recognized the eight sophomore members of this year's squad.

Diego Sada picked up two of the goals in the opening period, sandwiched around a score by Sacha VandersteeneDamien Baltide assisted on the first two goals and Takumi Semba got the assist on Sada's second score.

After Northeast notched a goal in the 55th minute, Indian Hills answered with a Baltide goal, his sixth of the fall, which is tied for the team lead.  NCC scored on a penalty kick with two minutes remaining to set the final margin.

Vinicius Cadengue started in goal for IHCC and made two saves.  Sophomore Alan Roman came in for the final 20 minutes.

The win puts IHCC's record at 13-2-2 overall and 7-1-1 in the conference.  The victory clinches a first-round bye for the Warriors in the league tournament and assures them a home match in their first postseason test.
