Warriors Drop Semifinal Match to Iowa Lakes

Ottumwa -- A late first-half goal by Iowa Lakes snapped a 1-1 deadlock and the Lakers went on to defeat Indian Hills, 3-1, in a Region XI semifinal matchup at the IHCC field Wednesday.  

Indian Hills had scored its only goal before the Jovoney Brown score following a midfield turnover by the Warriors proved to be the game-winner, coming with 4:23 to play in the first half.  The Lakers got an insurance tally 35 seconds into the second half and they move on to take on Marshalltown CC in the region final this weekend.

Diogo Adade was credited with the Indian Hills goal, his third of the season, after a corner kick by David Medeiros started the play.  Iowa Lakes had begun the scoring off its own corner kick.

IHCC goalkeeper Vinicius Cadengue had six saves.

Indian Hills ends the season with a 13-3-2 record.  They were ranked 13th going into the match and Iowa Lakes was 14th.
