Winters Uncorks Winning Shot Put Effort at Central

Pella, Iowa -- Nathan Winters won the shot put, and qualified for this month's Drake Relays in the process, to lead Indian Hills to a 6th-place team finish at Saturday's Central College Invitational. Javaris Logan also had a first, in the triple jump, as the Warriors amassed 56 points.

Winters winning effort in the shot was 56'-1". He also threw the discus 159', good for 2nd place in that event.

Logan's triple jump distance was 42'-9.5" for the other 1st place for IHCC.

Spencer White was 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.52 and IHCC's 4x100 meter relay unit of Montray Chambers, White, Jalen Lozano and Joseph Stewart came in 3rd in 42.73.

Rahman Burton ran 51.58 in the 400 meters and Andrew Hart clocked 58.83 in the 400 meter hurdles, both good for 6th place. Indian Hills had three of the top 10 times in the 3000 meter steeplechase -- Zach Hougland was 7th (10:54.61), Cody Mathis 9th (11:35.90) and Ryan Schaeffer 10th (12:19.89).
