Warriors are 8th, Winters Wins Shot Again

Fayette, Missouri -- Freshman Nathan Winters had another outstanding performance, winning the shot put competition, to lead Indian Hills to an 8th place finish in the Central Methodist Invitational on Saturday. Winters' winning throw was 54'-8.25", topping the field of 26 throwers. He was also 2nd in the discus with an effort of 166'-4".

Indian Hills, the only two-year school in the meet, finished 8th of the 13 schools who participated, compiling 50 team points.

After Winters' 1st- and 2nd-place finishes, the Warriors had two 3rds -- from Spencer White in the 110 meter hurdles (15.04) and Colton Lanman in the high jump (6'-2.25").

Andrew Hart's time of 58.54 was good for 4th in the 400 meter hurdles. White was 7th in the event in 60.42. The 4x800 relay unit of Jared Draper, Jack Hastings, Garrett Hinson and Luke Sigler came in 4th in 8:34.85. Zachary Hougland was 6th in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:53.57) and Cody Mathis was 9th in that race (11:15.62), and the 4x400 relay team of Hart, Rahman Burton, Montray Chambers and Joseph Stewart was 7th in 3:37.85.

The Warriors will take part in the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines Apr. 14-15.
