IHCC Men Break Six School Records at Central

Pella, Iowa -- Indian Hills established a half-dozen new school records in the Warriors' performance at the Central College Open at Ron Schipper Stadium on Saturday. IHCC won four events and piled up 128 points to finish 3rd out of the five teams that competed.

Joseph Stewart led the way for the Indian Hills sprints, winning the 400 meters by more than two seconds and breaking the old IHCC record by .01 second with his time of 49.49. Another record fell when Nathan Winters took the shot put competition with a toss of 56'2". Winters won both the shot and discus, his effort in the latter was 146'2".

Javaris Logan broke the school record in the long jump and triple jump, taking 1st in the triple jump with a leap of 43'7". Spencer White was 4th in the 200 meters in an IHCC record of 22.73. He also placed 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 15.59.

Jalen Lozano broke the school record in the 100 meters with a time of 11.42 and was 6th in the 200 meters in 22.93.

The Warriors were impressive with three of the top seven finishers in the 800 meters. Luke Sigler's time of 2:00.67 was good for 4th and a new school mark. Jack Hastings was 5th in 2:01.75 and Garrett Hinson 7th in 2:02.49.

Also for Indian Hills, Colton Lanman was 3rd in the high jump at 6'2.75", Demitrius Mitchell was 3rd in the 110 hurdles in 15.70, Cody Mathis won the 3000 steeplechase in 11:04, Rahman Burton was 5th in the 400 meters in 52.98, Brenton Fjeld was 5th in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:02.25, Zachary Hougland (9:39) led three IHCC athletes in the 3000, finishing 2nd in 9:39, ahead of Joshua Keller who was 3rd (9:51) and Curtis Ford in 5th (9:55).
