Winters Doubles Down at Nationals

Hutchinson, Kansas -- Indian Hills freshman Nathan Winters had second-place showings in both the shot put and discus to lead the Warriors at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

Winters gained runnerup status in the shot with a toss of 55'6". The winning effort was 58'9". The IHCC frosh from Knoxville had another second-place finish with a heave of 160'8" in the discus. That trailed only the winning throw of 187'1".

Paced by Winters' two second-place results the Warriors had 16 team points, good for 18th place in the team standings.

IHCC's Colton Lanman competed in the high jump competition and jumped 6'3", good for 14th place.

Demitrius Mitchell and Spencer White both qualified for the national meet in the 110 meter hurdles. Although neither reached the finals in the event, Mitchell ran 15.00 in the prelims and White clocked 15.61, good for 15th and 20th place, respectively.
