Ottumwa -- Ten members of the Indian Hills men's track and field team -- all of them freshmen -- earned a spot on the Spring Academic All-Region team announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0 to be on the academic first team; a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 is necessary to gain a spot on the second team.
Nine of the ten Warrior track and field athletes were on the first team. They are Alex Carrasco, Colton Lanman, Curtis Ford, Garrett Hinson, Jack Hastings, Joshua Keller, Luke Sigler, Riley Wynn, and Zachary Hougland. Gianni Berry qualified for the second team.
In all, 82 student-athletes from Indian Hills whose teams competed in the spring term are on the academic all-region team.
