Rice Lake, Wisconsin-- One of the nation's best sprinters has signed a national letter of intent to compete for the Indian Hills track and field team next year. Four time state champion and Wisconsin 400m state record holder, Kenny Bednarek of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, will be bringing his talents to Ottumwa.

Despite growing up in a small town, Bednarek is no stranger to the limelight. The USA Track and Field Junior Olympic runner-up in the 400m is currently ranked number nine in the Flotrack Top 10 sprint recruits of the class of 2018 and was recruited by NCAA Division 1 powerhouse University of Oregon. Bednarek enters his senior season with personal bests of 46.19 in the 400m and 21.24 in the 200m. The future Warrior's 400m mark ranks him as the second fastest 400m runner in the class of 2018.

The track and field coaching staff believes Kenny will make an immediate impact at the national level, with the possibility of competing for a national title. Kenny will also be a fantastic addition to the All-American 4x400m relay that was 8th at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships, with three of the relay legs returning next year.
