Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Chris Giles (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) landed his second consecutive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week award after setting a new personal best mark for the Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad.
Giles made a splash at the Friends University Invitational on Saturday with the second-fastest time in the nation in the men's 200-meter dash event. Giles upped his personal best performance from a week ago in the 200m with a time of 20.68, 0.57 seconds faster than last week.
Giles' time on Saturday was the top mark at the meet as the freshman finished .40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, three-time national champion Jerod Elcock of Butler Community College (KS). The mark ranks second in Indian Hills history and is the second-fastest mark in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this year.
The Warriors are back in action April 7-8 at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, KS.
