Grainger Leads IHCC Men in First Meet

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- Freshman Clayton Grainger had the fastest time, finishing 11th overall, as the Indian Hills men's cross country team began its 2017 fall campaign on Saturday at the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Pre-Regional meet.  Grainger, in his initial college competition, turned in a time of 16:26.52 over the 5K course, narrowly missing the top ten.  He was less than a second away from the 10th-place runner.

Sophomore Garrett Hinson was next for the Warriors, finishing in 21st place in 16:53.36.  Soph Zach Hougland and freshman Cameron Schroeder were one second apart and came in 25th and 26th, respectively.  Joshua Keller, a sophomore, was 35th and freshman Cody Denniston 49th for IHCC.

Indian Hills was 5th in the team race with 114 points.

The Warriors will take part in the Dutch Invite in Pella on Friday, Sept. 1.
