Rock Island, IL – Friday, September 21st was one for the history books for the Indian Hills cross country program as sophomore Marcus Graham became the program's first ever athlete to run under 25 minutes, and sophomore Michael DeMeyer became the 2nd athlete to run under 26 minutes at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.

Graham made quick work of the field; taking over just after the 2 mile mark, and making a move the last 2,500-meters to cruise to victory. His winning time of 24:51 was a new Indian Hills Community College school record, breaking his previous record by 38 seconds. DeMeyer joined Graham not only on the medal stand, but also in the record books, by becoming the 2nd athlete in Indian Hills Community College history to run under 26-minutes (Graham being the first). His finishing time of 25:57 was good enough to notch an 18th place finish out of 330 athletes, making it three consecutive meets that he has medaled for the Warriors. Coach Ewing weighed in on the performance of Graham and DeMeyer by saying, "Marcus continues to solidify himself as one of the best JUCO runners in the nation. I think this was a huge confidence booster for he and Michael. Michael believes he can be an All-American this year, and that type of belief is coming to fruition in his races."

Rounding out the top-7 for IHCC included: freshman Zach Schocker (105th), freshman Drake VanBaale (115th), sophomore Clayton Grainger (123rd), freshman Seth Kilborn (125th), and freshman Conner Riley (135th).  Coach Ewing said after the meet, "Every single athlete on our men's squad ran significantly faster than they did two weeks ago. Seeing that type of progress is a testament to their work ethic, and their trust in the system that we are implementing here. I was very impressed." The team finished 12th of 26 teams.

The men's cross country team will return to action on Friday, September 28th at 5:15 at the Wisconsin Eau-Claire Blugold Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Eau-Claire.
