Ackley, Iowa -- The fledgling Indian Hills sports shooting team concluded its first season of competition by taking part in the Iowa State Collegiate Trap Championship at the Stockdale Gun Club on Saturday. The IHCC team finished 5th out of the seven teams that made up the championship field.

Tristan Schaefer led the Indian Hills shooters, hitting 181 targets. Case Scieszinski was next with a score of 180, followed by Hunter McAninch with a 171.

Indian Hills, coached by Jake Stalzer, sent 10 shooters to compete. Also representing IHCC and their scores were:

Colton Selvy - 163

Blake Lawless - 163

Brett Nace - 161

Ryan Romanco - 160

Dale Bryant - 143

Dylan Perkins - 140

Coach Stalzer says recruiting for next year's squad has been underway since last fall with the hope of having around 30 shooters representing Indian Hills for the fall 2017 season. The team will be based on the Indian Hills Centerville campus.
