Warriors Drill Rose State

IH vs Rose State

Midwest City, Oklahoma -- Indian Hills erupted for 22 hits, 13 of them for extra bases, stole 11 bases and demolished Rose State College, 23-14, as the Warriors southern trip continued on Monday.  IHCC, now 7-1, and Rose State were slated to play a doubleheader, but decided to forego the second game, given the weather conditions and the length of the first game.

Each team enjoyed a big first inning -- the Warriors putting a 7-spot on the board in the top of the frame, and Rose State answering with five runs of their own in the bottom.  The Indian Hills bats didn't stop after that as they scored five runs in the 2nd, two in the 3rd, four in the 4th, two in the 5th and three more in the 6th.

Leading the Warriors' offensive explosion were Taylor Takushi, who was 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs; Erin Kuba, 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a homer and six driven in; Abby Straight, 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs; and Taylor DuBois, 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two knocked in.

Alexis Westercamp and Vanessa Bakley also had two-base hits and both had two RBIs, and Cheyanne Bergert scored four times.

Takushi and Taylor Jones stole three bases apiece.

Tia Kohl, the starter, got the win for IHCC and Carlyn Stanley finished up.

After an off day on Tuesday, the Warriors continue their trip with a doubleheader at Seminole State on Wednesday and another twinbill at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Thursday.
