Ottumwa -- Taylor Takushi had a huge day at the plate, Taylor Jones ran wild and the 20th-rated Indian Hills softball posted another doubleheader sweep on Thursday -- their third is as many days -- drubbing the William Penn JV, 13-0 and 11-2, at Hellyer Field.  Both games went five innings.

Takush was 6-for-7 on the day and knocked in nine runs.  Jones established a new Indian Hills single-game record with five stolen bases in game two, after she swiped three bags in the opener.  The Warriors ran their season mark to 34-7 with the sweep.

Olivia Goodale and Abby Straight combined to hold the Statesmen hitless in the first game, Goodale in three innings and Straight in two.  Takushi was 4-for-4 with two singles and two doubles and four runs-batted-in.  Alexis Westercamp went 3-for-3, drove in three runs and doubled twice.  Jones scored three runs to match her stolen base total.  And Aubrey Miller had two hits and an RBI.

It was Carlyn Stanley and Tia Kohl who shared the pitching duties in the next game.  Stanley struck out five in her three innings.  Jones scored four times to go with the five steals.  Takushi homered, doubled and knocked in five runs.  Jaylie Reints produced three RBIs with a pair of hits, Cheyanne Bergert singled twice and Katelyn Banning scored two runs for the Warriors.

Indian Hills will go on the road Friday for a conference twinbill at Marshalltown.
