Warriors Divide Four Games vs. NEO

Miami, Oklahoma -- After dropping a pair of games to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Saturday, Indian Hills roared back with a doubleheader sweep Sunday, scoring 19 runs and banging out 33 hits to gain a split in the weekend series.  NEO took the two Saturday games, 7-6 and 6-2; IHCC won the next day, 8-6 in 10 innings and 11-6.

The Warriors used an 18-hit attack to gain their first win of the weekend, breaking a 5-5 tie with three runs in the top of the 10th.  Brittni Lloyd and Jaylie Reints had 4-hit games, Vanessa Bakley had three hits, and Chloe Olson, Alexis Westercamp and Jakala Hall produced two hits each.  Olson, Reints, Westercamp and Bakley all doubled, Lloyd had a triple and Olson and Macey Harrington homered to lead the Warriors.  Alexis Groet went the distance in the circle for IHCC, scattering 11 hits and striking out 12 without walking anyone.

Fifteen more hits followed in game two, Indian Hills using four-run innings in the 2nd and 4th to build a big lead.  They were on top 11-4 after four innings.  The contest featured four Warrior homers -- two by Westercamp and one from Olson and Harrington, who each got their second of the day.  Olson also doubled twice and drove in four runs.  Jordan Hollon collected four hits and Westercamp, Bakley and Hall had two apiece.  Hollon scored three times and Olson, Westercamp and Bakley twice.  Hall had the complete-game victory, giving up only three earned runs in seven innings.

Saturday, Indian Hills lost the opener even though they outhit the hosts, 13-7.  The Warriors hurt themselves with five errors.  Brooke Snider went 4-for-4 and scored a run, Olson was 3-for-4 and had an RBI.  Hollon slapped two hits and Harrington knocked in two runs.  Hall threw all seven innings and took the loss.

The Warriors were held to only four hits, all singles, in game two.  Olson, Harrington, Hollon and Westercamp had the hits.  Snider and Harrington drove in the runs and they were scored by Olson and Westercamp.  Nina Hendriks absorbed the loss, permitting seven hits in six innings with two Ks. 

Indian Hills looks to open its home season this week with a doubleheader against NIACC slated for Wednesday.
