Pargeon Scores Twice and Warriors Blank Lakers

Spencer, Iowa -- Sophomore Olivia Pargeon scored a late first-half goal, off an assist from Ellena Finneran, and added a second score minutes into the second half as the Indian Hills Warriors claimed a victory in their first conference match of the season, blanking Iowa Lakes, 2-0, on Saturday.

Soph goalkeeper Marta Lopez made sure the goals by Pargeon would stand with a shutout performance, stopping all 10 Lakers' shots on goal.

Pargeon opened the scoring after taking a pass from Finneran and finding the back of the net at the 40-minute mark of the opening half.

Just three minutes into the second half, Ellie Priest assisted on Pargeon's second score and that was all the offense the Warriors would need in their stellar defensive effort.

Indian Hills outshot Iowa Lakes 24-10 in winning their second consecutive match to start the season.

The Warriors will play their home opener on Wednesday when they welcome Hawkeye CC to Ottumwa, the first of four straight home matches for IHCC.
