Warriors Shut Out ILCC

Ottumwa -- Three days after being shut out by conference rival Iowa Western, Indian Hills got a shutout of their own, blanking Iowa Lakes, 5-0, at the IHCC field on Saturday.

Megan McElmeel scored the final two goals for IHCC, giving her seven for the season, six of them coming in the last six matches.

Goalkeeper Sophie Ledger had five saves and notched the Warriors sixth shutout of the fall.

Taylor Hiatt had the lone goal in the first half, coming just six minutes before halftime.

Mel Shepherd started the second half scoring with an unassisted goal. Laura Hallissey tallied the third IHCC goal, with an assist by McElmeel, who then scored twice after that. The last three Indian Hills' goals came in the contest's final 11 minutes.

IHCC (8-2, 5-2) battles Hawkeye CC in Waterloo on Wednesday.
