OT Goal for Hallissey As IHCC Gets Milestone Win

Independence, Missouri -- Laura Hallissey's goal two minutes into overtime gave Indian Hills a 4-3 win over MCC-Blue River on Friday night, the Warriors' 11th victory and one that established a new school high for wins in a season. Last year's IHCC team finished 10-7-1; with their latest win, this year's Indian Hills women are 11-2.

MCC-Blue River tied the score at 3-all with a late second half goal, but Hallissey's 7th goal of the season and her second of the game allowed IHCC to claim the win in overtime. It was also Hallissey's second game-winning goal. She had the lone tally when the Warriors defeated Northeast (Neb.) 1-0 last month.

Megan McElmeel started the scoring for Indian Hills with a goal in the 20th minute and Hallissey added a second goal five minutes later. Brianna Clark accounted for the only IHCC goal in the second half.

Sophie Ledger and Marta Lopez shared the goalkeeping duties for Indian Hills. Ledger had three saves and permitted two goals in the first half; Lopez gave up one goal and had a pair of saves in the second half and overtime.

Indian Hills stays on the road when they play at State Fair CC in Sedalia, Mo. on Sunday.
