On to Finals for IHCC Women's Soccer

Des Moines, Iowa -- Freshmen Megan McElmeel and Laura Hallissey each scored a pair of goals and the Indian Hills women's soccer team advanced to make their first appearance in the championship match of the ICCAC postseason tournament with a convincing 5-0 win over Scott CC Saturday at the Cownie Soccer Park.

McElmeel got the scoring started with a goal just 15 minutes into the contest and Hallissey followed two minutes later with a score that made it 2-0.

Those two netted their second goals, in the same order, in the second half. McElmeel made it 3-0 a minute into the last half and things stayed that way until Hallissey found the back of the net in the 75th minute. Freshman Alicia Riffle closed out the scoring with her first goal of the season ten minutes after Hallissey scored.

McElmeel leads IHCC with 16 goals and Hallissey has 13.

Olivia Pargeon, Kelcie Loughren and Harriet Jones all had two assists for the Warriors and Hannah Mitchell had one.

Sophie Ledger played the first half in goal for the Warriors and made two saves. Marta Lopez took over for the final 45 minutes and stopped one shot on goal.

Indian Hills will battle Iowa Western in the championship matchup on Sunday. Iowa Western knocked off Iowa Lakes 3-0 in Saturday's other semifinal. The Reivers swept the regular season series with the Warriors, winning 7-0 and 2-1.
