Ottumwa -- The Indian Hills women's soccer team placed 16 student-athletes on the fall 2016 Academic All-Region team released by the conference office. Seven of the Warriors honored were on the first team made up of those with a grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0. Nine IHCC players were named to the second team, for GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.

Briguithee Aquino, Ellena Finneran, Emily Sands, Kelcie Loughren, Laura Hallissey, Taylor Hiatt and Tess Schiesl earned academic first team honors. On the second team were Allie Schaefer, Eda Demiralay, Ellie Priest, Hannah Mitchell, Hannah Till, Marta Lopez, Megan McElmeel, Melissa Shepherd and Sophie Greenwood.

Indian Hills had a total of 81 student-athletes on either the first or second team academic honor list. That's nearly 60 percent of all the individuals on fall rosters.
