Indian Hills Women Suffer First Loss

NCC

Norfolk, Nebraska -- The high-scoring Indian Hills offense, which had amassed 39 goals in sprinting to a 5-0 record to start the season, was held in check by the Northeast CC defense and goalkeeper Alexis Wemhoff and the Hawks handed the Warriors their first loss, 1-0, on Saturday.

Wemhoff made five saves against an IHCC offense that mustered only eight shots, half of them by Charlyann Pizzarello

The lone goal of the match came from Northeast's Emily Goc in the 49th minute following a scoreless first period.  IHCC keeper Megan Wick had three saves.

The Warriors will try to rebound with a pair of home matches this week -- against Scott CC Wednesday and Iowa Lakes on Saturday.  Both games start at 2:00.  IHCC already owns a victory against Iowa Lakes, beating the Lakers, 5-3, last month.
