Warriors Bounce Back with Easy Win

Scott

Ottumwa -- Recovering nicely from their first loss of the season last weekend, the Indian Hills women's soccer team blasted Scott CC, 11-0, at the IHCC field on Wednesday, getting a hat trick from sophomore Emma Rosner in the process.

Rosner started the scoring in both halves for the Warriors, her first goal coming less than 90 seconds into the match.  It was the first of six opening-half goals for Indian Hills, which had been shut out by Northeast (Neb.) in the last game.  Leading goal-scorer Emily Murphy had a pair of goals around Rosner's second score in the first period, giving Murphy 19 goals for the season.

Molly Kellar and Juanita Miller also scored in the first half.  Maite Montalvo, Kellar, Julie Gouilliart and Charlyann Pizzarello followed Rosner's third goal of the game in the final period, as the Warriors reached double-figures in goals for the third time in seven games.  They have scored 50 goals for the season.

It was the initial goal of the year for Miller, Montalvo and Gouilliart.  Murphy, Rosner and Kiri Chiba all had two assists.

IHCC's offense was relentless with 49 shots, a season-best.

Keeper Megan Wick had two saves in the IHCC goal as the Warriors improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Another home match comes up this Saturday for Indian Hills, the Warriors hosting Iowa Lakes, a team they defeated 5-3 earlier in the season.
