Council Bluffs, Iowa -- A pair of goals by Laura Chavez fueled Iowa Western's 3-0 defeat of Indian Hills on Wednesday in a battle between two teams that have been matched up in the championship game of the region postseason tournament each of the past two years.

Chavez opened the scoring with a goal just eight minutes into the match and then assisted on a Kauany Sousa goal later in the half.  Chavez provided the final goal for Iowa Western in the 59th minute.

Meanwhile, the Warriors didn't have any luck solving the Reivers' defense and goalkeeper Whitney Dockweiler, who had to make just one save.  The Warriors were outshot, 19-3, in suffering their second loss of the season.  IHCC keeper Megan Wick had 11 saves.

Indian Hills is back in action on Saturday when the Warriors (8-2) take on NIACC at the IHCC field at 2:00.
