Indian Hills Gets Murphy Hat Trick and Drubs NIACC

NIACC

Ottumwa -- Emily Murphy set the IHCC program record for goals in a season, scoring three times in the Warriors' 9-0 drubbing of NIACC at the IHCC field on Saturday.

Murphy now has 25 goals, bettering the previous mark of 22 for Brooke Duea in the 2008 campaign.  The talented freshman also had three assists, raising her season point total to 61.

Emma Rosner and Miranda Kurtt tallied two goals each and Julie Gouilliart and Carmen Kager also found the back of the net for the Warriors, who upped their season record to 9-2 and their conference mark to 3-2.

Murphy started the scoring with the game not even two minutes old and added another score in the opening half.  Her second-half goal gave her six hat tricks for the season.

In addition to Murphy's three assists, Kurtt had two and Charlyann Pizzarello, Kager, Gouilliart and Kinsey Cook all had one assist.

Megan Wick had four saves in goal for the Warriors and the freshman keeper now has four shutouts for the year and has allowed only 11 goals in nine matches.

Indian Hills plays at Iowa Central on Tuesday afternoon.
