IHCC Ends Regular Season with a Bang

Ottumwa -- On a day when Indian Hills honored the eight sophomore members of this year's squad the Warriors brought an end to the regular season with a 13-0 pasting of Dakota County Technical College Saturday at the IHCC field.  The win put IHCC's season record at 12-3, tying the win total from last season for the second-most wins in program history.  The Warriors finished the conference slate with a 5-3 mark and will take the number-four seed into the postseason tournament.  They will host Iowa Lakes next Sunday to get the postseason underway.

It was another huge day for freshman Emily Murphy, who tallied five goals, giving her 35 for the season.  She was one of three Indian Hills players with a hat trick -- a pair of sophs, Emma Rosner and Charlyann Pizzarello, scored three goals each.  Rosner has 15 goals and she assisted on two goals to increase her season assist total to 16, one more than Murphy.

The other IHCC goals came from Kinsey Cook, her first of the fall, and Carmen Kager, her sixth.  Taylor Fuller had an assist on one of Rosner's goals to record her first point of the season, and Juanita Miller set up Murphy's fifth and final goal.  Cook picked up two assists and Miranda Kurtt and Julie Gouilliart one each.

Megan Wick, IHCC's freshman goalkeeper, notched her third consecutive shutout -- she only had to make one save -- and her fourth in the last five matches.  It was Wick's seventh clean sheet of the season.

The 13 goals represent a season-high for IHCC.  They are 7-0 at home heading into the contest with Iowa Lakes next weekend.
