IHCC Blanked by Iowa Western

IWCC

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- Iowa Western on Wednesday got its second 3-0 win this fall against Indian Hills and, in the process, ended the Warriors' season in the semifinals of the conference postseason tournament.

The Reivers got goals from Laura Chavez in the first half and Moriah Lucas and Paige Moser in the second period and their goalkeeper, Whitney Dockweiler, snuffed out the few scoring chances Indian Hills had, making four saves.

IHCC keeper Megan Wick had nine saves as her streak of four straight shutouts came to an end.

The Warriors finish the year with a 13-4 record, the third consecutive season that ended with a postseason loss to Iowa Western.

They shattered the school record for goals with 95 and freshman Emily Murphy had by far the best goal-scoring season ever for a Warrior with 37.  IHCC has won 41 games over the past three campaigns under coach Anthony Longo.
